Seth Hodgkins Obituary Raymond, ME Crash Death: Seth Hodgkins Has Died In A Fatal Crash
RAYMOND, Maine — The Raymond community is mourning the sudden loss of 20-year-old Seth Hodgkins of Greenwood, who tragically died Monday evening in a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Webbs Mills Road (Route 85) and Tarkiln Hill Road.
According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Hodgkins was traveling north on his motorcycle shortly before 7:30 p.m. when he collided with a southbound 2012 Toyota RAV4, driven by 23-year-old Seth Thayer of Raymond, who was attempting a left turn onto Tarkiln Hill Road. Following the initial impact, Hodgkins was ejected from his motorcycle and struck by a second vehicle, a 2015 GMC Terrain driven by 55-year-old Christopher Akers of Casco. Hodgkins was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and stated that alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Windham Police Department’s crash reconstruction team, continues to investigate the incident.
Hodgkins served as an EMT with the Buckfield Fire Rescue Department. Chief Blaquiere remembered him as “more than just an EMT—he was a friend, a co-worker, and someone who answered the call to help others without hesitation.” In a Facebook tribute, the chief wrote, “It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden loss of EMT Seth Hodgkins. His commitment to serving his community and caring for those in need will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with Seth’s family, friends, and all his co-workers during this incredibly difficult time. Rest easy, Seth. We’ll take it from here.”
The community extends its deepest condolences to Seth Hodgkins’ family, friends, and colleagues as they grieve this untimely loss.
